Boiler softening water equipment
1. Equipment introduction
Boiler water softening equipment is a raw water pretreatment device launched to address boiler scaling. It removes calcium and magnesium ions and elements that cause boiler scaling in the raw water.
2. Working principle
Since water hardness is primarily caused by calcium and magnesium, cation exchange resins (water softeners) are generally used to displace Ca2+ and Mg2+ (the primary components of scale formation) from the water. As the amount of Ca2+ and Mg2+ increases within the resin, the resin's efficiency in removing them gradually decreases.
Once the resin has absorbed a certain amount of calcium and magnesium ions, it must be regenerated. This regeneration process involves flushing the resin layer with salt water from the brine tank to displace the hardness ions. These are then discharged from the tank with the regeneration wastewater, and the resin resumes its softening and exchange function.
Since water hardness is primarily caused by calcium and magnesium, the principle of sodium ion exchange softening treatment is to pass raw water through a sodium cation exchange resin, exchanging the hardness components Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the water with the Na+ in the resin. This absorbs the Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the water, softening the water.
Fully automatic sodium ion exchangers use the ion exchange principle to remove scaling ions such as calcium and magnesium from water. When raw water containing hardness ions passes through the resin layer within the exchanger, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water exchange with the sodium ions adsorbed by the resin. The resin absorbs the calcium and magnesium ions, while the sodium ions enter the water. The water that exits the exchanger is softened water with its hardness removed.
3.Performance characteristics
(2). Labor-Saving: The system is highly automated, eliminating the need for dedicated personnel.
(3). Water-Saving: The softener's water production rate exceeds 98%.
(4). Power-Saving: Utilizing a siphon regeneration principle, it eliminates the need for a salt pump and consumes only 1% of the power of manual water softeners.
(5). Small Footprint: It only requires space for the resin tank and salt tank, saving space for piping and a salt pump.
(6). Easy Adjustment: Users can adjust the regeneration cycle and time according to their needs.
(7). Low Operating Costs: Due to its high degree of automation, the water softener can adapt to changes in water volume, accurately measuring water output and regeneration agent dosage, avoiding unnecessary waste of regeneration agent during regeneration and saving significant labor costs.
